June 2011

Will finished up the t-ball season in June. His team had an end of the year party at the Racquet Club pool. Coach Kyle presented each of them with a trophy with their name on it. Will was so proud of his. It is sitting on his dresser now, but he carried it around the house for a few days and had to show all his grandparents. His friend Holden reportedly slept with his trophy!

The LOTT Lions had their last game a few days after the team party. It was starting to get really hot those last few games so it didn't hurt my feelings for the season to be over. Sometime during the middle of the season, the coaches started pitching to the kids during games. They would pitch 3 or 4 to them and if they didn't get a hit, they would set up the tee. Some kids did well with this and others struggled. I wanted Will to hit one pitched at him so bad because he can do it at home  - or at least he can with softer balls and a lighter bat. Anyway, during his last game he had two at bats and he got a hit off of Coach Kyle both times!! I was excited for him and proud of him! After the game we took him to Applebee's, his favorite place to eat.

The kids went to VBS at First Methodist with mom (Mrs. Lindsey, Will's teacher, was the director) during the middle of June. They learned three of the songs and loved singing and dancing to them so much that we ended up with a CD of the music so we can listen to it whenever we want! :) Here they are performing for us!

Also during June, Guy, Julie and Shepherd came to visit. We went to the park and played outside as much as the heat would allow. They love their cousin and never get enough of playing with him.

Here's Ainsley modeling a dress I bought from our neighbor sews and sells clothes locally and online. I love the colors on her.

We had the family over for Father's Day. Here are the three Colvin men and Mitch and Ainsley, who was not cooperating for pictures . . . but that's life with a three year old!

On June 28, Will experienced a milestone in the process of growing up . . . he lost his first tooth! I was not prepared for it at all, literally or figuratively. That morning I had noticed while doing his "mouth exercises" that one of his bottom teeth seemed to move when my finger passed it. I wiggled it and could tell it was really loose. I don't know how I missed it before that! That night we worked and worked on it until Mitch was able to pull it out. Will was such a trooper, especially considering his oral issues. He was so proud when it finally came out. He knew all about the tooth fairy and about putting it under his pillow. When he was born, someone gave us a little white pouch for that purpose. I dug it out and we tucked his tooth inside and hid it under his pillow. The next morning the tooth fairy had left a dollar. While this may not seem like much to some, he could not have been more proud of that dollar! It was a bittersweet experience to realize our little boy is growing up!
